GDPR & ABM: what the new European data legislation means

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) has good intentions to protect its citizens and far reaching implications for businesses. The ambiton is to enhance the digital privacy rights of EU citizens. It will give more freedom and transparency to individuals regarding their online personal data.



It will be effective as of 25th May 2018.

Equally important and perhaps even more impactual is the ePrivacy Regulation which will become effective at the same time as GDPR.

The objective here to ensure greater levels of privacy and this stricter rules for all electronic communication. The primary focus is the consent required by an individual to enable the use of cookies and the transmission of personal data.

These new regulations have implications for all modern organizations, requiring compliance with the new regulations in the digital services, offerings and data management.
