Is B2B marketing in crisis?

According to the yearly study "Säljindikatorn" (Sales indicator), mady by PMP Marknadskonsult, 48% think that their investments in marketing do NOT lead to increased sales. 40% of the companies do not measure the effect of their investments (survey is made with 100 listed Swedish companies).The numbers are even more depressing looking only at B2B.

Lars Dahlberg, CEO Business Reflex, has written an article about the surevy. He says: "The numbers are alarming, but not surprising. Unfortunately marketing and sales are often not aligned, sharing the same goals and working together to generate business in a more effective way." DI has also written an article about the survey (Swedish press). Why are the numbers lo low?
"I think the problems starts in management not knowing what to ask for" says Mikael Julher, CEO PMP Marknadskonsult.
If you add the fact that modern B2B buyer is highly digital, it truly is a competitive disadvantage not to have a clear digital marketing strategy and toolbox in place.
